Cabin Crew is smart, versatile and they carry the brand of an airline. But, what is the real scoop behind the Cabin Crew and the Tattoos. There are plenty of stories and gossips that often do rounds on the Scoops of a Cabin Crew and BAWDY MARKINGS.
In short, there is practically no balance between a Tattoo or body marking and the Cabin Crew. Most of the airlines just do not allow these representations, even if these representations appear miniscule. The appearance of tattoos on visible or invisible part of the skin is seriously dealt with in the commercial airlines operating in Middle East. Qatar, Etihad or Emirates- a cabin crew CANNOT have body tattoo marked anywhere on the skin. Having one is not considered a good sign of professionalism.
Considered otherwise – A Tattoo on the Body is nothing more than a piece of art and this art portrayal often looks stunning as well as quite scintillating to the oglers. But this splurging idea does not always fits well in aviation. Most commercial airlines seriously expect that the marking on the body should be completely concealed under the uniform. Not even an inch of those markings should appear from nowhere.
The flights operating in Europe or across the US are allowed tattoo markings, although such markings come with the limitations. Several Cabin Crew forums are often busy talking about covering the tattoos with bandages, or the plasters, or the make-up.
Tattoo Check in Commercial Airlines
Well, does the management of airlines go for stringent tattoo check? The answer is YES. Open Day or the Assessment Day as it is often called; the most of the airlines go for a rigorous tattoo check. Just in case any Cabin Crew is discovered with tattoos, a stern action is initiated, and such an action may include grounding or may even result in termination from the job.
And for Cabin Crew who removes the tattoos following the rigors of professional procedures, they are sublimed and turn out to be an easy go.
Protocols on Acceptance of Tattoos by Airlines
Here are a few protocols followed by the domestic and international airlines:
- Female Crew is not allowed to have tattoos on the arm tops, hands, wrists, head and the nape. They are also not allowed to have tattoo on the ankles and the feet;
- Male Crew will not be included in the service for having the tattoos on the hands, wrists besides the head and the neck;
- In many cases, the tattoos on the base of the neck and the top of the spine will cause problems.
In short to take out the gist out of the whole idea – Cabin Crew as well as the tattoos do not get up to the mark.
